We are working with a leading law firm to recruit a Principal Associate into its highly regarded Non-Contentious Construction & Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the largest and most respected construction teams in the UK, advising on high-value, high-profile construction, engineering and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a market-leading, full-service construction practice acting for developers, contractors, investors, public sector bodies, and major corporates on complex and often landmark projects. The team is uniquely positioned in the market, acting across the full spectrum of stakeholders, and is regularly instructed on large-scale, complex developments and infrastructure schemes across sectors including real estate, logistics, energy, housing, regeneration, healthcare, and major infrastructure.
Duties:
- Advising on major construction and engineering projects across the UK and internationally
- Drafting and negotiating a range of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, MF/1)
- Supporting on development agreements, funding agreements, and agreements for lease
- Working on large-scale regeneration and infrastructure projects
- Delivering commercial, pragmatic advice to a high-calibre client base
- Taking a lead role on transactions with limited partner supervision
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Contributing to business development and team growth initiatives
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 6+ years’ PQE
- Strong experience in non-contentious construction law
- Proven track record advising on major projects and complex transactions
- Experience working with standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, MF/1)
- Commercially focused with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice
- Experience supervising junior team members
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and client management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple high-value matters
