Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Contract)
Location: UK Rate: £600-£750/day (Outside IR35) We’re seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across major infrastructure projects.
Key Requirements 10+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering within heavy civils, tunnelling, or major infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Eurocode 7, UK standards, and geotechnical risk management.
Experience with ground investigations, foundation design, retaining structures, deep excavations, and soil‑structure interaction.
Proven technical leadership, design review, and mentoring capability.
Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society).
Experience on major UK infrastructure programmes desirable.
Responsibilities Lead geotechnical design and assessment activities.
Review and approve technical deliverables.
Provide technical assurance and support bid/project teams.
Mentor junior engineers and support multidisciplinary delivery.
