TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive the design and integration of electrical systems across our advanced sonar, submarine, and autonomous technology programmes. What you'll be doing:
- Leading the design and development of electrical systems for complex maritime products
- Defining architectures, selecting components, and ensuring safety and EMC compliance
- Producing and reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable assemblies
- Supporting integration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Conducting design reviews and maintaining documentation accuracy
- Coaching and mentoring junior engineers to grow team capability
- Collaborating with suppliers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution and control systems
- Experience with CAD tools and CE/UKCA directives
- Familiarity with EMC, electrical safety, and industry standards
- System‑level integration and debugging experience
- PLCs, motor control, or automation knowledge (desirable)
- A strong communicator, problem solver, and team player with leadership skills
