A leading nuclear manufacturing company near Manchester is looking for a Principal EC&I Engineer to support the delivery of complex engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team working on specialist equipment and systems, including gloveboxes and similar containment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead EC&I engineering activities across design and project delivery
- Support UKCA / CE marking compliance and technical file documentation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and legislation
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders
- Provide technical oversight during manufacture, testing and commissioning
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in UKCA / CE marking
- Background in highly regulated engineering environments
- Experience with gloveboxes or similar specialist equipment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of machinery safety regulations, PUWER, LOLER, CDM, etc.
- Ability to lead engineering activities and mentor others
- Nuclear experience, but not essential
- Security clearance, or ability to obtain clearance required
Working arrangement: 4‑day working week (4 x 10‑hour days), minimum 2 days in the office (ideally 3), long‑term contract opportunity outside IR35. Pay up to £58.50 per hour.
