Our client are looking for a Senior Project Manager role for AMP8 clean water infrastructure projects in the North West involves leading the delivery of major water capital schemes across the United Utilities network, including pipelines, treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs, and network resilience upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of clean water infrastructure projects from design through commissioning
  • Manage multiple AMP8 projects or a major programme valued from £10m–£100m+
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Oversee NEC3/NEC4 contract administration and commercial performance
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, planning, HSEQ, and site delivery
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, risk registers, and financial forecasts
  • Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, regulators, and operational teams
  • Manage stakeholder communications across the AMP8 framework
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, environmental standards, and water industry requirements
  • Mentor Project Managers and junior delivery staff within the framework team

Requirements

  • Significant experience delivering water or utilities infrastructure projects
  • AMP framework experience (AMP5–AMP8)
  • Strong clean water background including:
    • Water treatment
    • Trunk mains/pipelines
    • Pumping stations
    • Reservoirs
    • Network upgrades
  • NEC3/NEC4 contract management experience
  • Proven ability managing large capital programmes and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent commercial and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Professional qualifications such as:
    • APM PMQ
    • PRINCE2
    • CEng / MAPM / MICE (desirable)
