Role information:
The role is Analytical Laboratory Technician, with the primary responsibility being uranium analysis of residue stream material using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) to support processing, ensuring all work complies with ISO 17025 standards.
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Strong analytical capability and accurate interpretation of results
- High attention to detail to identify deviations in sample data
- Working knowledge of GLP and ISO 17025
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation (preferably XRF but transferable skills will be considered)
- Calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Accurate record-keeping and documentation of methods and results
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving during testing
- Clear communication and reporting of results
- Understanding of laboratory safety procedures
Qualifications/Experience
- MUST have Science A-level with at least 5 years' experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
- Knowledge of nuclear fuel manufacturing processes (Desirable, not essential)
- Experience handling radioactive materials (Desirable, not essential)
- Familiarity with LIMS (Desirable, not essential)
- Understanding of statistical analysis techniques (Desirable, not essential)
