Job Description Civil Engineer South West, UK Virtual interview Mon–Fri Certain Advantage is partnering with a key client to recruit a Civil Engineer.
You’ll be responsible for refurbishments/renovation, new developments and listed building compliance.
What will you be doing?
- Provide advice on construction‑related matters across projects.
- Contribute to multiple stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.
- Produce and coordinate drawing packages and technical specifications.
- Liaise with key client stakeholders and the wider design team.
- Interface with statutory authorities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Arrange site and ground investigations, undertake condition surveys, and interpret findings to produce reports and remediation strategies.
- Deliver alterations to existing structures, including listed buildings, design small‑scale new structures, and contribute to temporary works and support design.
- A couple of things you should know
- Relevant civil engineering experience within highly regulated industries (e. g., nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, or oil and gas).
- Proven track record of delivering projects across RIBA Stages 3 to 5.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and/or similar BIM‑enabled software, with experience delivering to BIM Level 2 standards.
- Proficient in the interpretation and production of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- During an interview, you may be asked about

- Your experience working in nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, oil and gas etc.
