Our client is a fast‑growing manufacturer of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and fabricated equipment for sectors including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Water Treatment and Heavy Industry. Due to continued expansion they’re looking for a skilled Plater / Fabricator to join their production team in Pencoed and help deliver high‑quality engineered products to customers around the world.
The Role
- Cutting, grinding and laying out sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel and angle
- Performing MIG and MMA tack welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Assembling and fabricating high‑quality finished products
- Marking out cylinders, nozzle locations and weld preparations
- Using plasma and gas cutting equipment safely and effectively
- Preparing pipework, flanges and structural components for welding
- Following strict health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
About You
- Previous experience as a Plater, Fabricator or Metal Fabricator
- Confident reading fabrication drawings and working accurately to dimensions
- Experience using workshop equipment such as saws, drills, rotators, manipulators and cranes
- Knowledge of pressure vessels, pipework or structural steelwork is advantageous
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
- Strong understanding of workshop safety standards and safe working practices
- Forklift training is beneficial but not essential
