Job Description
Summary Are you an experienced Plant Workshop Manager or Workshop Supervisor with strong plant maintenance knowledge and proven leadership skills?
A well‑established engineering and plant business is looking for a proactive Plant Workshop Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation of its busy workshop in Eversley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop performance, lead a skilled team, and help drive improvements across maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency.
The successful Plant Workshop Manager will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving preventative maintenance processes, and maintaining high workshop standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanics and welders, allocating workloads effectively.
- Support recruitment, coaching, and development of workshop staff.
- Ensure servicing, repairs, and inspections are completed efficiently and safely.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant availability.
- Support engineers with diagnosing complex plant and mechanical faults.
- Ensure all 12‑month inspections are audited and signed off correctly.
- Monitor damage charges, labour usage, and parts costs accurately.
- Work closely with the Parts Controller to maintain effective stock levels.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, or similar role.
- Strong background within plant maintenance and repair environments.
- NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
- Proven people management and team leadership experience.
- Good understanding of plant legislation, compliance, and HSQE standards.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience implementing workshop systems and processes.
- Experience with Syrinx plant management systems would be advantageous.
