The Pipe Welder is responsible for performing a full range of journeyman-level structural & pipe welding procedures, including pre-heat temperatures, electrode selection, welding processes, and quality control specifications in accordance with the specific metallurgical properties of material involved. This position performs basic rigging procedures as well as advanced fabrication, layout and field verification techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Review Isometric, blueprints and hand sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare material for welding, cutting or fabrication SMAW, GMAW, stainless pipe, carbon
- Fabricate and modify piping systems and process equipment, and draft or redline drawings as needed
- Field verification of piping & structural systems
- Weld in compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Maintain records of work orders and materials used
- Able to use hand and power tools, as well as hydraulic, air & electric shop equipment
- Use of Respirator equipment, Local and portable exhaust ventilation systems
