We are a well‑known, respected civil engineering contractor based near Peterborough, offering a £90m contracting business. We are looking for a Commercial Director to lead our team and drive commercial success.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of 10 Quantity Surveyors
- Full commercial responsibility for the business
- Overseeing contracts valued £10k – £50m
- Contract types: NEC, JCT and sometimes IchemE or bespoke
- Working for various big‑name UK blue‑chip organisations as clients
- Growing organisation with aspiration, planning and active development opportunities
About the Ideal Candidate:
- Senior commercial managers or commercial director‑level civil engineering, building and construction background
- Skilled in people management, contract organisation, negotiating, communicating, contract oversight and commercial delivery through a team
- Leadership skills are essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- MCIOB or MRICS desirable
- Proven track record managing multi‑million‑pound civil engineering or building contracts
- A perfect candidate would have all of the above and wish to work in a large subcontracting environment, ideally with knowledge and/or experience of earthworks, groundworks, and related civil engineering infrastructure projects and contracts.
