The Install Technician is responsible for performing residential and light commercial HVAC installations under the direction of a Lead Installation Technician. This position focuses on the installation of ductless mini‑split, air‑source heat pump, and related HVAC systems, ensuring all work meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and state licensing requirements. The role requires a licensed HVAC technician capable of delivering high‑quality, efficient, and code‑compliant installations while maintaining professionalism and safety on every job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Coordination: Lead HVAC installation crews in the setup and completion of ductless mini‑split and air‑source heat pump systems. Coordinate with project managers, dispatchers, and clients to verify project scope, scheduling, and site readiness. Allocate work assignments, monitor progress, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting: Perform advanced system installation tasks including line set routing, vacuuming, flaring, pressure testing, and electrical connections. Diagnose and correct technical or design issues during installation; ensure full operational performance upon completion. Verify system charging, calibration, and commissioning per manufacturer specifications.
- Team Development & Training: Supervise, mentor, and train junior installers and apprentices on best practices, safety, and proper installation techniques. Conduct on‑site coaching to ensure consistent quality and adherence to company standards.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed records of project details, equipment installed, field changes, and customer communications. Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, and state/local building codes. Complete job closeout documentation, including photos, inspection sign‑offs, and system verification checklists.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary on‑site contact for homeowners or general contractors, communicating status updates and addressing concerns. Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and a focus on delivering excellent customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
