Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Alarm Engineer to carry out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of fire alarm systems across the North West. The role involves working across commercial, industrial, and residential sites, ensuring all systems comply with current regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839 standards.
- Service and maintain existing fire alarm systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Complete accurate service reports, certificates, and documentation.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and other engineers.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required.
- Manage tools, equipment, and company vehicle responsibly.
Systems Experience (Desirable)
- Conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturers such as Gent, Apollo, Advanced, Notifier, C‑Tec, or similar.
- Basic understanding of emergency lighting (advantageous but not essential).
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer (installation and servicing).
- Good knowledge of fire alarm regulations and British Standards.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- IT literacy for reporting and documentation.
Qualifications
- Relevant fire alarm qualifications (e.g. FIA units).
- ECS/CSCS card (or ability to obtain).
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
