Key Responsibilities
- Install, dismantle, and reassemble overhead cranes and related equipment as needed.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections to identify wear, malfunctions, or safety hazards.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural crane components.
- Replace or repair worn or defective parts to maintain optimal crane performance.
- Perform load tests, safety checks, and calibrations to ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, CMAA, and company standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service, maintenance, and inspection records.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, safety officers, and operations teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
- Remain current with technological advancements, safety regulations, and industry best practices related to overhead crane systems.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Technician or in a closely related mechanical or electrical maintenance role (minimum 5 years).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to crane operation.
- Good working knowledge of 230/460V AC controls, motors, and mechanical drive trains.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with OSHA, ASME, and ANSI safety standards applicable to lifting equipment.
- OSHA 10/30 certification but not required.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including work at heights and in small spaces.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and operator training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications or vocational training a plus.
