Workshop Mechanical Assembly Operative
Based: North West of Norwich City Centre, Fulltime, Permanent role.
Hours: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday with some Saturday mornings on a rota basis. Longer hours may be required during the winter peak (December to March inclusive).
Salary: £13.53 – £13.84 per hour, based on experience. Pay increases after learning new skills and after the probation period; regular overtime at an enhanced rate during peak periods.

Job Role:
- Assist with or complete the manufacturing, production and assembly of our client’s fabricated products using a variety of hand or power tools.
- Work from technical drawings, comply with safety practices and methods, and develop new solutions in close liaison with customers.
- Fabricate and assemble sub‑assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete products as scheduled.
- Coordinate with the Workshop Manager to implement work schedules and ensure timely completion of all sales orders.
- Maintain a high standard of quality production, report problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager, and pursue continuous improvement.
- Train to carry out the maximum range of tasks for which you are capable within the workshop department.
- Comply with all aspects of the client’s Health and Safety procedures, and bring any concerns to the Workshop Manager without delay.
- Use all defined personal protection equipment and wear appropriate PPE with handheld tools (e.g., hand routers, grinders).
The ideal candidate will have a good engineering aptitude, practical nature, and strong work ethic.
