Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Fire Engineer to join our clients’ team to carry out fire safety installation works within a residential property currently undergoing renovation in Norwich.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and commission fire alarm systems.
- Install and test emergency lighting systems.
- Carry out first-fix and second-fix electrical works associated with fire safety installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant British Standards and fire safety regulations.
- Complete testing, fault finding and commissioning of installed systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times.
- Liaise professionally with site managers, contractors and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Complete installation records and commissioning documentation where required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience installing fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
- Good understanding of relevant British Standards, including BS 5839 and BS 5266.
- ECS/CSCS card (where applicable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- FIA training or equivalent fire industry qualifications.
- Experience working on residential renovation or refurbishment projects.
- Electrical qualifications (e.g. Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Experience commissioning addressable fire alarm systems.
