Requirement for a Connections Designer to deliver projects for DNOs. To be based at the DNO's premises or at our Colchester office.
Responsibilities
- Design and costing of LV & 11kV (up to and including 132 kV) projects for new Connections, asset replacement, non-rechargeable and diversions.
- Analysing network issues and performance problems, and propose technically sound and cost-effective solutions.
- Analysing connections and issue jobs for Witness Testing.
- Producing concise business cases in the correct format and present them for authorisation in a timely manner to deliver the Production Plan.
- Determining the appropriate point of connection (POC) for new load and enquiries from LV up to and including 132 kV.
- Undertaking site visits and meetings as necessary.
Preferred qualifications
- Electricity network regulations / NERS requirements.
- DNO or Grid code for protection settings.
- Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry.

Required education and training
