Branta recruitment are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join an expanding commercial maintenance company who deliver comprehensive Hard FM, HVAC, electrical, and gas solutions to a diverse regional and commercial portfolio.

About the Role

This is a high-visibility, evolving position within our core commercial team. As our Bid Manager, you will step away from generic, 'copy-and-paste' tendering. Your primary mission will be to write, tailor, and deeply personalize high-scoring bid submissions that reflect our technical capabilities and unique value proposition. You will act as the central operational link across the business, coordinating input from diverse internal divisions (Engineering, HSE, Finance, and Operations) and external stakeholders to construct winning proposals. As the company grows, this role offers genuine, fast-tracked opportunities to progress into senior commercial leadership within the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Bid Management: Take absolute ownership of the bidding lifecycle, from initial PQQ/SQ screening and EOI submissions to final ITT compilation and post-tender presentations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the central project manager for each bid, collaborating with divisional leads, engineering managers, and directors to gather technical data and align operational capabilities with client requirements.
  • Bespoke Content Creation: Write, design, and articulate high-quality, compelling bid responses. Personalize and tailor each submission specifically to the client's pain points, sector challenges, and organizational values.
  • Pipeline Administration: Maintain and manage the corporate bid library, case studies, compliance folders, and reference portfolios, ensuring all master information is continuously modernized.
  • Commercial Sizing (Desired): Assist the commercial team with basic estimating, cost modeling, and commercial frameworks where required (estimating capability is highly valued but not essential).
  • SLA & Deadline Adherence: Establish clear internal milestone timelines for stakeholders, ensuring all submissions are meticulously reviewed, sign-off procedures are completed, and bids are delivered on time with zero variance.

Experience & Sector Knowledge

  • Industry Background: Verifiable bid management or bid-writing experience working within an M&E, Hard FM, HVAC, Commercial Gas, or Building Services environment. A strong understanding of maintenance terminology and engineering assets is highly advantageous.
  • Proven Track Record: Solid experience in a similar Bid Writer / Bid Manager role with a documented history of winning commercial contracts, local authority frameworks, or corporate tenders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to influence, coordinate, and hold senior internal stakeholders and division heads accountable to tight deadlines.

Core Skills

  • Advanced Copywriting: Outstanding written English skills with the natural ability to translate complex, technical engineering concepts into crisp, engaging, and personalized customer-centric prose.
  • Project Management Mindset: Highly organized with a natural aptitude for managing multiple bidding timelines concurrently without compromising quality or attention to detail.
  • Analytical Capability: Skilled in auditing tender documentation to extract key scoring criteria and compliance hurdles.
  • Software Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Advanced Word layouts, Excel data logging, PowerPoint) and digital procurement portals (e.g., Proactis, Delta, NEPO).

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive Base Salary tailored to your experience tier, paired with a structured commercial team bonus scheme.
  • Clear Career Progression: A dynamic, growing role with an explicit pathway to advance into Senior Commercial or Bidding Management as the company scales.
  • Modern Work Environment: Flexible/hybrid working arrangements supported by top-tier hardware and software systems.
  • Enrolment into an established corporate pension scheme, professional training allowances, and a comprehensive annual leave package.
