The Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh seeks a full-time Director.

Primary Function: Direct and manage overall daily operations of the Boys & Girls Club under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, develop and manage a budget, actively engage and support a Club Advisory Council, community relations, volunteers, and membership administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish Club programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and that create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate overall Club programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
  • Maintain close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain the organizational mission, program objectives, and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information.
  • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
  • Manage Club financial resources assisting in the development of annual budgets.
  • Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for unit staff and volunteers.
  • Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, and organizations.
  • Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and the community.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ work experience in a similar organization planning, and supervising activities of people, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with people, parents, and community leaders.
