We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing operation, providing effective preventive and reactive maintenance across site to support production performance and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding, diagnosis and repairs on plant and machinery
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules and engineering standards
- Support reactive maintenance and breakdown response to minimise production downtime
- Identify failure trends and implement actions to reduce breakdowns, stoppages and quality defects
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability enhancements
- Support mechanical and electrical project work as required
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering and supervisory teams to prioritise work
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors for technical support, spares and services
- Ensure Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments are current and adhered to
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and workshops
Essential Skills & Experience
- Apprentice‑trained or NVQ/C&G qualified (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Multi‑skilled mechanical and electrical capability
- Minimum five years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role
- Experience of proactive and reactive maintenance and PPM/TPM
- Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
- Strong focus on health & safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Good communication skills and a flexible, adaptable approach
Desirable Qualifications
- HNC (Mechanical or Electrical)
- PLC fault‑finding / diagnostics, CMMS experience
- Welding (MIG/TIG), machining (milling/turning)
- Manufacturing experience within extrusion, glass or window environments
- MEWP, FLT, crane or side‑loader licences
