Job DescriptionMechanical Contracts Manager – Commercial Fit Out Location: London Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 + package Sector: Commercial Fit Out / Building Services Type: Permanent We are working with an established MEP contractor specialising in commercial fit-out projects, who are looking to appoint a Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee a team of Project Managers delivering projects across London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who is ready to take the next step into Contracts Management, or an established Contracts Manager looking for a new challenge. Projects typically range from £200k to £1.5m, predominantly within the commercial office fit-out sector. The Role As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will oversee a team of Mechanical Project Managers, providing support and direction across multiple live commercial fit-out projects. You will retain overall responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme, whilst acting as a senior point of contact for clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of Mechanical Project Managers.
- Provide leadership, guidance and technical support across multiple projects.
- Oversee commercial fit-out projects ranging from £200k – £1.5m.
- Monitor project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
- Ensure projects are delivered to programme, specification and client expectations.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Attend client and project meetings.
- Review project progress and identify commercial, technical and programme risks.
- Support Project Managers with procurement and subcontractor management.
- Oversee variations, valuations, applications and final accounts.
- Ensure high standards of health & safety and quality are maintained.
- Mentor and develop Project Managers within the business.
- Work closely with the senior management team to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Building Services professional with a strong background in commercial fit-out. You could currently be an experienced:
- Mechanical Project Manager
- Senior Mechanical Project Manager
- Mechanical Contracts Manager
If you’re a strong Mechanical Project Manager who has successfully delivered commercial fit-out projects and feels ready to step up, this role could be an excellent opportunity. You’ll need:
- Strong mechanical building services experience.
- Proven experience delivering commercial fit-out projects.
- Experience managing projects from approximately £200k – £1.5m.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Excellent client and subcontractor management skills.
- The ability to manage and support multiple Project Managers.
- A desire to progress into a senior management position.
