RoleAs a Senior Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering fire engineering consultancy services across a varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK. You will act as a key technical contributor within project teams, supporting design development, managing client relationships and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver fire engineering projects across multiple sectors including residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments
- Prepare and review Fire Strategies, Fire Statements and technical fire engineering reports
- Undertake performance‑based fire engineering analysis
- Provide fire safety advice throughout design and construction phases
- Liaise with clients, architects, developers, contractors and approval authorities
- Manage project delivery, programme requirements and client expectations
- Mentor and support Graduate Fire Engineers and junior team members
- Contribute to technical excellence, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support business development activities and client relationship management
- Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Previous experience working within a Fire Engineering Consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, Approved Document B and fire safety legislation
- Experience producing Fire Strategies and delivering fire engineering projects independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or similar professional body
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status or committed to achieving chartership
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling
- Smoke control and evacuation analysis
