The Role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operational delivery and coordination of our mobile and relocatable healthcare fleet operations. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, this role will lead on fleet deployment, transportation, maintenance coordination, operational readiness, logistics reporting, site surveys, and installation activities across the UK. This is a hands‑on operational role requiring regular travel to operational sites and participation in on‑call rotas.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Operations & Transportation
- Coordinate day‑to‑day logistics operations for mobile healthcare units
- Manage fleet deployment schedules and transportation activities
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, repairs, servicing, and operational readiness
- Support transportation contingency planning and operational disruption management
- Ensure compliance with healthcare transport regulations and operational governance standards
- Site Surveys & Operational Deployment
- Conduct site surveys and operational readiness assessments
- Coordinate unit delivery, setup, installation, relocation, and decommissioning
- Complete operational inspections, audits, and handover documentation
- Support third‑party contractors and installation providers
- Maintenance & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate Field Maintenance Technicians and service providers
- Manage inventory, consumables, and operational equipment readiness
- Maintain fleet maintenance records and operational logs
- Work collaboratively with operational, clinical, and administrative teams
- Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Act as key operational contact for logistics‑related matters
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, OEMs, customers, and healthcare organisations
- Produce KPI reports on fleet utilisation, maintenance activity, and operational delivery
- Escalate operational risks and service disruptions appropriately
- Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, QMS, IMS, and health & safety standards
- Conduct operational audits and compliance inspections
- Identify process improvements and support service efficiency initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within logistics, fleet operations, healthcare operations, engineering coordination, or service delivery environments.
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating maintenance, operational deployment, and logistics activities.
- Knowledge of healthcare logistics and operational compliance requirements.
- Strong IT, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable
- Experience supporting mobile healthcare or diagnostic imaging services.
- Knowledge of medical equipment logistics.
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification.
- Experience using fleet or logistics management systems.
