We have a brand new role available for a Field Service Manager; a technical role with a real focus on customer service. The role is based in Middleton and will suit someone with technical service and engineering skills & experience.

The Job:

  • You’ll be responsible for a small team of field service engineers and administrators who are often overseas.
  • You’ll be responsible for the effective planning, resource management and coordination of the team when working on overseas installations/commissioning, process optimisation and general maintenance and repair.
  • You’ll ensure that all relevant drawings and documentation relative to the engineers' visits are complete and available.
  • Dealing with customer queries regarding technical or engineering issues.
  • Liaise with other business units with regards to major installation projects.
  • Create and issue technical quotations, order creation and definition and relevant costings, and follow up as needed.
  • Organise staff training, approval of flights and expenses.
  • You will be required to visit customer sites overseas on an infrequent basis, mainly in the period of induction.

About You:

  • Previous leadership experience is essential, ideally with an understanding of the management of remote teams.
  • Engineering qualification, ideally HNC or above.
  • Experience of coaching and developing teams.
  • PC literate with MS Office and MRP/ERP management systems.
  • You’ll be a confident and articulate communicator – telephone, face to face and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
