About the role

We are currently partnering with a leading global organisation within the Oil and Gas sector to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Projects & Solutions team based in Malton. Reporting to the Project Manager, this is a key role responsible for delivering bespoke engineering solutions focused on custody transfer, measurement, and metering systems across oil and gas applications. These solutions play a critical role in ensuring accurate measurement of product quantity and quality - essential for commercial and financial integrity across complex operations such as pipelines, offshore installations, and loading facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer - or a motivated junior engineer with relevant systems experience - to work on technically challenging, high-value projects within a specialist engineering environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing engineering activities across assigned projects or project phases.
  • Interpreting customer specifications and translating these into compliant technical designs and solutions.
  • Designing and configuring flow computers, metering supervisory systems (MSC), PLCs, and associated software.
  • Producing and managing project documentation (e.g., FDS, SBD, ATM, SAT, O&M manuals, loop diagrams, GA drawings).
  • Supporting testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system validation.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supporting the sales team with technical input for proposals and tenders.

What we're looking for

We're interested in speaking to engineers with a background in oil & gas measurement, control, or instrumentation systems who are comfortable working in a project-driven, technical environment.

Essential

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or similar)
  • Experience in oil and gas, ideally within custody transfer, measurement, or metering systems
  • Knowledge of flow computers and supervisory/control systems such as Emerson, Omni, FlowX, EXI, Honeywell (DCS/Metersuite), PLCs, CiTECT, or similar
  • Experience in control systems, instrumentation, or automation engineering
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and deliver engineering solutions accordingly

Desirable

  • Experience working on multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems such as Wonderware or similar

What you'll gain

  • A permanent, full-time opportunity within a highly specialised engineering environment
  • The chance to work on technically complex and commercially critical oil and gas projects
  • Exposure to global projects and industry-leading measurement and control technologies
  • A hybrid working model with a strong team presence in the Malton office

If you're a driven Project Engineer with a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality engineering solutions in the oil and gas industry, we'd love to hear from you.
