We’re currently working with a well established manufacturing business that’s looking to add a Maintenance Fitter to their days team. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands on, takes pride in keeping machinery running properly, and can spot issues before they turn into breakdowns. You need solid mechanical skills, a proactive approach, and a good eye for preventative maintenance.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in keeping the plant reliable and running efficiently. Your day-to-day will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on equipment like mixers, conveyors, pumps, and bearings
- Completing inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Replacing worn parts before they fail to avoid downtime
- Getting involved in continuous improvement work to make equipment more reliable
- Keeping maintenance records up to date in the CMMS
- Identifying recurring issues and feeding back to engineering/CI teams
- Supporting installs, upgrades, and improvement projects
- Working closely with production and other teams to keep things running smoothly
- Providing occasional cover for shift engineers when needed
- Following all site safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, etc.)
The right candidate
- Minimum of a Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanically strong, with experience on things like conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and drives
- Comfortable carrying out PPM tasks and recording work properly
- A good hands on problem solver when things go wrong
- Safety-conscious and a reliable team player
