We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience across CNC machinery, PLC systems, and industrial plant equipment to join a dynamic maintenance team at a leading high-volume manufacturing facility. This is a key role responsible for ensuring machinery uptime, supporting TPM initiatives, and contributing to long-term reliability improvements across a wide range of production equipment.

The Role:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance on Plant, PLC-controlled machinery, and factory services
  • Support and help deliver planned maintenance schedules (TPM and CMMS-based)
  • Maintain boilers and energy centre equipment (training provided if needed)
  • Improve plant reliability and support root cause analysis for downtime events
  • Assist with contractor management and ensure high standards of safety and compliance
  • Keep maintenance records and data up to date in the CMMS system
  • Support wider improvement projects and work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
  • Drive your own development and support training across the team when required

The Person:

  • Multiskilled background with Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship (ONC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Good working knowledge of PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and flexible mindset – team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Good computer literacy and time management

Desirable:

  • BOAS-certified or previous boiler operation experience
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, 5Y, etc.)
  • Experience leading or training within maintenance teams
  • Ability to deputise for a Team Leader when needed
