KHR is partnering with a leading international manufacturing organisation to recruit a skilled Mechanical Technician to join their Engineering Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a well-established business that invests heavily in its people, technology, and continuous improvement culture.
As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical production equipment across the site. Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you will undertake preventative maintenance, fault‑finding, breakdown response, and equipment improvement activities to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities across site equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective repairs
- Diagnose faults on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Complete work orders accurately, recording time, defects, and spare parts used through SAP PM
- Support planned shutdowns and maintenance projects
- Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, modifications, and upgrades
- Conduct risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
- Work closely with production teams to minimise disruption and maximise machine uptime
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Participate in the on‑call rota and provide shift cover when necessary
What We're Looking For
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing, process, heavy industrial, FMCG, chemical, or similar environments
- Flexible approach with a willingness to support plant shutdowns and on‑call requirements
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience using SAP PM or other CMMS systems would be advantageous
- Understanding of health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
