We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the South East and wider UK. This role offers the opportunity to take a lead position on large-scale projects while supporting and mentoring HSE teams across a portfolio of civil engineering schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead health and safety standards across major infrastructure projects
- Provide technical HSE advice and support to site management teams
- Manage and mentor Health & Safety Advisors
- Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Review and approve RAMS, permits and project documentation
- Promote behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams
Requirements
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- IOSH membership with progression towards Chartered status
- Previous experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects
- Experience managing or mentoring HSE personnel
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required
