Our client is a well‑established and growing electrical contractor delivering commercial installation projects across London and the South of England. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join their team. This is a hands‑on supervisory position, ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front while remaining actively involved in installation work. The successful candidate will oversee electrical operatives on site, ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently, and maintain the high standards of workmanship expected by both the business and its clients. Projects are located across the South of England, including Reading, Portsmouth, Bristol, Luton, London and surrounding areas, so flexibility to travel is essential.

As Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of commercial electrical installations from site commencement through to completion. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and coordinating electrical operatives on site
  • Carrying out electrical installation works as required
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements
  • Coordinating labour, materials and plant requirements with the Project Manager
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site housekeeping
  • Conducting site inspections and quality checks
  • Liaising professionally with clients, main contractors and other trades
  • Completing site paperwork, progress reports and health & safety documentation
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and project handovers
  • Identifying and resolving site issues proactively
  • Mentoring apprentices and supporting the development of junior electricians

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:

  • ECS Gold Card
  • SSSTS qualification
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
  • Proven experience supervising electrical installation teams
  • Strong commercial electrical installation experience
  • The ability to lead teams while remaining hands‑on when required
  • A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and site practices
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Commercial fit‑out project experience
  • IPAF certification
  • PASMA certification
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • Experience managing subcontract labour
  • Experience working across multiple project locations
