An excellent opportunity for an experienced Strategic Sourcing professional to join a leading renewable energy organisation, supporting the procurement of critical infrastructure, engineering services, and operational spend across a complex and fast-moving asset base.
The role involves taking ownership of end-to-end strategic sourcing activity across a highly varied portfolio, developing category strategies, leading tenders, negotiating contracts, and driving supplier performance. This is a genuinely broad and hands-on role, working closely with engineering and operational stakeholders across multiple renewable and hydro sites. You'll manage a diverse pipeline of procurement activity spanning both Capex and indirect categories, including:
- Major equipment and assets
- Engineering and technical services
- MRO and maintenance spend
- Civils and construction works
- Specialist operational requirements
Given the nature of the business, no two weeks are the same - you might be sourcing heavy equipment one week and specialist containment or isolation solutions the next.
You will also play a key role in:
- Identifying and delivering cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with HSE, ESG, and regulatory standards
- Supporting procurement reporting, analytics and continuous improvement
- Driving adoption of digital tools (Source-to-Contract platforms, Power BI dashboards)
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where required
Key requirements:
- 5–7+ years' strategic procurement experience across Capex and indirect categories
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with engineering/technical teams
- Background in energy, renewables, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy industry
- Strong understanding of engineering-led environments (mechanical engineering degree advantageous)
- Experience with procurement systems (SAP / Ariba desirable)
Package includes:
- Up to £62,000 salary + 5% bonus
- 28 days holiday
- Up to 12% pension contribution
- Private healthcare
- Life assurance (8x salary)
- Income protection
