You’ll be joining a Tier 1 contractor operating within the highways sector. They deliver major civils projects nationwide with stable project pipelines and excellent opportunities for long-term progression. Due to an increase in workload and new schemes commencing, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join on a long-term temporary basis.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support highways projects across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. You will work predominantly on-site (4 days per week) and may have the opportunity to move across different live projects as required. Key responsibilities include managing large subcontract packages, assisting with forecasting, carrying out take-offs, and managing compensation events under NEC contracts. You will ensure commercial compliance throughout the full project lifecycle.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience working for a Tier 1 contractor
- Strong Quantity Surveying background within highways
- Experience primarily focused on large subcontract package management
- Ability to assist with forecasting
- Ability to undertake accurate take-offs
- Clear and practical understanding of compensation event management
- Solid working knowledge of NEC3/4
