A highly regarded international law firm is looking to recruit a Senior Compliance Manager into its London office, with oversight across both its London and international offices. This is an excellent opportunity to join a senior leadership team with responsibility across compliance, AML, legal finance, regulatory risk, and financial controls, while working closely with partners and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role:
- Acting as COFA for the London office
- Acting as MLCO and MLRO for the London office, with full responsibility for AML compliance, suspicious activity reporting and regulatory reporting obligations
- Acting as MLRO for an additional international office
- Working closely with senior leadership to ensure compliance with SRA regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules and wider regulatory obligations
- Overseeing compliance systems, breach registers, file reviews, complaints registers and internal reporting
- Managing compliance across legal finance, VAT reconciliations, payroll compliance, tax filings, audits and partner capital accounts
- Leading and mentoring the Risk & Compliance team, including direct line management responsibilities
- Acting as the key liaison with regulators, banks, auditors, HMRC, tax authorities and other external stakeholders
About You:
- Proven senior-level experience within legal compliance, legal finance, accounting and risk management in a law firm environment
- Strong hands-on experience performing COFA, MLRO and MLCO responsibilities
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks including SRA, LSAG, AML, Solicitors Accounts Rules, GDPR and wider compliance obligations
- Experience managing teams and driving compliance improvements across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to operate independently at senior stakeholder level
