A leading aviation organisation is seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to lead category management across Engineering & Maintenance. This is a high-impact role focused on shaping long-term sourcing strategies, optimising supplier performance, and delivering sustainable value across a complex global supply base.
This is not a transactional role—it's a strategic position requiring a strong category management mindset and deep expertise within the aerospace / aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities- Own and deliver category strategies across MRO, powerplant, airframe, spares, and technical services
- Lead long‑term strategic sourcing initiatives across a global supplier base, including MROs, OEMs, and component providers
- Conduct in‑depth spend analysis, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking to inform category direction
- Drive strategic supplier relationship management (SRM), focusing on performance, innovation, and risk mitigation
- Lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, ensuring long‑term value creation
- Partner closely with Engineering, Technical Services, and Maintenance Planning to align procurement strategy with operational needs
- Identify and deliver cost optimisation, value creation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all supplier contracts
- Support the development of procurement best practice and mentor junior team members where required
- Proven experience in strategic category management (not transactional procurement)
- Strong background within aerospace / aviation, ideally within an airline, MRO, or aircraft leasing environment
- Deep understanding of Engineering & Maintenance categories, including MRO, spares, and technical services
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long‑term sourcing strategies
- Strong commercial acumen with experience leading complex negotiations and supplier strategies
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and operational stakeholders
- Degree qualified (or equivalent); CIPS qualification desirable
- £80,000 base salary + bonus
- Clear long‑term career progression within a growing procurement function
