We are urgently seeking a Principal Property & Planning Lawyer to support a highly reputable local authority in Greater London on a short‑term interim basis.

Location: Outer East London area

Contract: 8 weeks

Rate: £346.92 per day (Inside IR35)

Start: Early May 2026

This is a genuinely rare opportunity to operate at Principal level, acting as the Council’s lead legal specialist on complex and high‑profile property and planning matters. The role covers:

  • Landlord and tenant matters
  • Easements and wayleaves
  • Collective enfranchisement
  • Leasehold extensions
  • Right to Buy
  • S106 and S278 agreements
  • Highways and infrastructure matters
  • CIL
  • Land acquisition and disposal

You will also advise senior officers and members and support Cabinet and Committee decision‑making. This role will suit an experienced UK local government lawyer (min. 4 years PQE) who can hit the ground running and operate confidently with minimal handover.
