Location: London Bridge Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 + package Job type: Permanent, full time
The company Our client is a well-established MEP contractor based in London Bridge, with a strong reputation for delivering mechanical and electrical packages on commercial projects across London.
Due to a healthy order book, they are looking to add an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.
The role You will take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from tender through to final account, working closely with project managers, estimators and site teams, and reporting to the Commercial Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Take commercial lead on M&E packages from pre-contract through to final account
- Measure and value mechanical and electrical works, and prepare interim applications for payment
- Procure subcontract packages, including tender enquiries, bid analysis and subcontract orders
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments
- Identify, price and agree variations, and manage change control
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cost value reconciliations (CVRs) for senior management
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
About you
- Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E or building services contractor
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical services
- Experience running packages under JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
- A track record of managing accounts through to final account
- Confident with cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related subject is
- Experience on commercial, fit-out or resi and similar London projects is an advantage
