NABA London is currently seeking 3 motivated individuals for the roles of Design and Fabrication Laboratory Supervisor, Textile Laboratory Supervisor and Fashion Laboratory Supervisor.
About NABA London
NABA London is the first international campus of Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, opening in East London in October 2026. Combining Italian design heritage with London’s creative industries, NABA London will offer an international, studio-based learning environment for students across art, design, fashion, and creative disciplines. Located at Here East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the new campus represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing institution at launch stage and contribute to shaping the student experience from day one. Programmes delivered at NABA London are validated by Regent's University London.
All roles report directly to the London School Director and Head of Education and play a key role in supporting teaching activities, laboratory operations, student development, and health & safety compliance within NABA London laboratories.
About the Roles
The Laboratory Supervisors support the delivery of academic activities by ensuring the effective organization, management, and maintenance of laboratories, materials, and equipment. The role involves providing technical assistance to students and faculty, coordinating laboratory planning, supporting events and academic projects, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities (Common Across All Roles)
- Laboratory Planning: Coordinate laboratory scheduling in collaboration with Academic Planning according to academic timetables and independent study sessions. Support academic, promotional, and student events including Open Days, exhibitions, fashion shows, and student welcoming activities. Provide guidance on laboratory equipment and technical resources available for teaching activities.
- Materials & Procurement: Manage procurement processes for materials, consumables, and laboratory supplies. Monitor stock levels, inventories, storage organization, and material disposal procedures. Ensure efficient allocation and lifecycle management of laboratory resources.
- Equipment Management: Support ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities of laboratory equipment. Coordinate repairs, servicing, and procurement of new equipment within assigned budgets.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations applicable to educational laboratory environments. Promote and implement safe working procedures for students and staff. Supervise waste disposal processes, including special and hazardous materials where applicable.
- Technical & Academic Support: Provide technical assistance to students and faculty during lessons, workshops, and project development. Support students in the realization of practical and creative projects. Collaborate with academic staff to guarantee the effective delivery of course activities.

- Fashion Laboratory Supervisor
- Focus Area: Support fashion design teaching activities with specific expertise in garment construction, pattern cutting, draping, and fashion production processes.
- Specific Expertise: Technical support in modeling, garment construction, draping, and finishing techniques. Management of sewing equipment, fashion production tools, and fabric stocks. Support for end-of-course activities such as fashion shows.
- Background: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in fashion laboratories or ateliers. Experience within academic or creative education environments.
- Design and Fabrication Laboratory Supervisor
- Focus Area: Guide and supervise students in model making, prototyping, and fabrication processes across design laboratories.
- Specific Expertise: Technical guidance in materials, fabrication techniques, and prototyping processes. Supervision of student model realization and workshop activities. Oversight of special waste disposal coordination across campus laboratories. Training students on laboratory safety procedures and equipment usage.
- Background: Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or related discipline. Minimum 6 years of experience in workshop or laboratory environments within design education. Strong knowledge of fabrication materials, tools, and prototyping techniques.
- Textile Laboratory Supervisor
- Focus Area: Support textile and garment technology activities with expertise in textile techniques, sewing technologies, and fabric experimentation.
- Specific Expertise: Support in weaving, dyeing, printing, embroidery, and fabric manipulation techniques. Management of industrial sewing machinery, pressing stations, and textile equipment. Technical assistance for textile experimentation and project realization.
- Background: Degree in Pattern Making, Garment Technology, or related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in textile laboratories or ateliers. Strong technical knowledge of textile production and garment construction processes.
