What you’ll be doing as an Electrical Engineering Apprentice:
- Define and capture the technical requirements for Project Definition Briefs.
- Ensure engineering work meets regulatory compliance for relevant electrical assets.
- Develop a strong understanding of the engineering and environmental aspects of plant design and delivery.
- Contribute to risk identification, investigation, and mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate within the Electrical discipline teams to support Thames Water in achieving its Asset Management Planning (AMP8) goals through 2030 and beyond.
- Learn on the job and through targeted training, with guidance and support from experienced senior engineers.
Where you’ll work:
- Location: Hampton TW12 2ES
- Hours: 36‑hour week over four working days plus one training day
- Start date: September 2026
- Training and qualification: You’ll study with Newbury University, one of the UK’s leading engineering training providers. Your program includes one day per week on campus, combining hands‑on learning with expert‑led instruction.
- Qualification achieved: Level 6 Apprenticeship Standard in Product Design Development in Engineering – HNC/HND & BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering
- Duration: Permanent contract with a 48‑month structured programme
What you should bring to the role:
