The Team

A&M’ PEPI practice is looking to hire a Director (m/f/d) in Operations & Manufacturing with a clear specialization in Pharma and Medical Technology. This role is focused on leading and delivering large, complex engagements for private equity-backed pharma and medtech companies, working closely with PE deal teams and operating partners. You will play a key role in diagnosing operational performance, designing value-creation initiatives, and implementing sustainable improvement across manufacturing and supply chain environments in highly regulated industries.

How you will contribute

  • Evaluate the operability, maintainability, and regulatory readiness of production facilities in pharma and medtech environments.
  • Analyse current and historical data to assess efficiency, capacity, and performance, including equipment conditions, maintenance records, spare parts strategies, and detailed production metrics.
  • Gain hands‑on shop floor insights by engaging with plant leadership, operations, and customers, supported by deep data analysis.
  • Identify and quantify value creation and cost improvement opportunities, including lean transformations, footprint optimization, outsourcing, and site consolidation.
  • Develop end‑to‑end transformation roadmaps with clear impact, risks, and mitigation strategies tailored to regulated manufacturing settings.
  • Lead execution, oversee high‑quality deliverables, and manage teams and client relationships to ensure exceptional results for private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.

Qualifications

  • Extensive professional experience combining industry and consulting, with a strong track record in Pharma and/or Medical Technology.
  • Proven experience working for or with private equity sponsors and PE‑backed portfolio companies.
  • Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas, ideally in regulated industries:
    • Supply Chain Operations
    • Manufacturing Operations, including S&IOP
    • Footprint optimization, plant consolidation, and product line transfers
    • Manufacturing strategy, CapEx planning, Manufacturing 4.0 / IIoT
    • Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering
  • Demonstrated access working with C‑suite executives, as well as PE deal and operation partners.
  • Fluency to a level in both written and verbal English is essential.
