A leading London-based Principal Contractor is seeking both Design Managers & Assistant Design Managers to join its growing design team. This role is ideal for a qualified Architect currently working in practice who wants to transition into a main contractor environment and gain exposure to live project delivery.

Role overview:

  • Reporting to a Head of Design, you will support the design function across complex London projects, including:
  • Managing design information from RIBA Stage 3 onwards.
  • Coordinating architects, structural and MEP consultants.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
  • Supporting design programmes and consultant deliverables.
  • Attending design team and site meetings.
  • Assisting with construction-phase design management.

Ideal background:

  • Qualified Architect (ARB / RIBA or equivalent).
  • Degree-qualified in Architecture.
  • Experience within a UK architectural practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK Building Regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience of the BSA 2022 (GW2) (Previous contractor experience is not required).
