Job Description

Data Architect - London (Hybrid) - Microsoft Fabric Transformation - Up to £75,000

We're partnering with a well-established organisation that is investing heavily in a large-scale data transformation programme, including the migration of its existing SQL and Azure data estate to Microsoft Fabric.

This role would suit either an existing Data Architect or a senior Data professional who has gained architecture exposure and is looking to take the next step into a dedicated architecture position.

Equally, it could appeal to an experienced architect seeking an opportunity to focus on quality design, governance and stakeholder engagement within a collaborative environment.

If you enjoy combining technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and leadership, this role offers the perfect balance of strategic architecture, business collaboration and hands‑on design.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key voice for Data Architecture within the organisation, helping define standards, governance and best practice as the business continues its data transformation journey.

  • You Will Work With
  • Designing conceptual, logical and enterprise data models.
  • Defining and promoting data architecture standards and best practices.
  • Creating and maintaining data architecture roadmaps.
  • Mapping data flows, lineage and system interactions across the business.
  • Supporting the migration of the organisation's SQL and Azure data estate to Microsoft Fabric, helping shape the architecture, modelling and governance underpinning the platform.
  • Collaborating with Data, BI, Governance and Technology teams.
  • Producing architecture documentation, models and design artefacts.
  • Championing architecture frameworks and educating stakeholders on best practice.
  • Influencing technical decisions and helping shape the future direction of the organisation's data strategy.

  • Key Experience
  • Experience working as a Data Architect or in a senior Data Engineering role with significant exposure to architecture and solution design.
  • Strong understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.
  • Experience with data mapping, data lineage and enterprise data governance.
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as 3NF, Kimball and other data modelling approaches.
  • Exposure to SQL, Azure and modern cloud data environments.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services or modern cloud data platforms would be advantageous.
  • Experience using modelling tools such as Sparx EA, Erwin or Collibra.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance business requirements with robust architectural design principles.
  • Passion for shaping long-term data strategy and best practice.
