An exciting opportunity has arisen with a market-leading international law firm for an experienced Construction Professional Indemnity Lawyer to join their highly regarded disputes team on a fixed-term contract basis, of 9-12 months in duration starting ASAP. A hybrid working arrangement is in place with 2-3 days per week required in the London office.
This role sits within a specialist insurance disputes practice focused on construction-related professional indemnity matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex, high-value claims for a broad client base, including construction professionals and their insurers. You will benefit from significant client exposure, the opportunity to contribute to strategic litigation decisions, and the chance to support and mentor junior lawyers within a collaborative and internationally integrated team.
You can expect to advise on a wide range of contentious construction matters, including:
- Professional indemnity claims involving construction professionals
- Defects, negligence, and errors & omissions disputes
- Coverage and policy-related issues
- Risk management and dispute resolution strategies
Clients include contractors, engineers, architects, surveyors, and project managers, as well as their insurers, spanning multiple sectors within the built environment.
Applications are sought from lawyers who can demonstrate:
- Qualification as a Solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction, such as New Zealand or Australia)
- Ideally 5+ years’ PQE with strong experience in construction disputes and/or professional indemnity insurance
- A background gained within a recognised law firm or specialist disputes practice
- Strong technical ability across contentious construction matters
- Confidence managing matters with a high degree of autonomy
- The ability to start a new role immediately or at short notice
