Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for the Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship standard, ensuring all sessions meet college standards and awarding body requirements.
- Deliver training using a range of engaging and effective methods, adapting approaches to meet the individual needs, prior learning and experience of each apprentice.
- Use progress reviews to monitor and evidence each apprentice's development against the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) of their standard, identifying any gaps and agreeing actions to address them.
- Ensure apprentices make strong, timely progress by completing regular progress reviews with apprentices and their employers and monitoring Off-The-Job (OTJ) training hours to maintain full compliance with apprenticeship funding rules.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Recognised Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or higher).
- Industry experience within the electrical sector with current knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessors and/or IQA qualification (desirable).
- Experience delivering Electrical Installation Level 3 qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of the current apprenticeship standard and EPA requirements.
- Experience of managing learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within the electrical industry.
- Good organisational and IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and virtual learning platforms.
