Overview of the Role
The Account Manager's primary relationship owner for existing bus and fleet clients across the United Kingdom. This is a client-facing, commercially focused role centred on protecting and growing established accounts, ensuring clients receive consistent value from our charging infrastructure, and coordinating internally to keep uptime commitments on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Account & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for existing bus operator and fleet clients across the UK.
- Own account health - proactively managing satisfaction, identifying risks, and escalating concerns early.
- Conduct regular account reviews and service check-ins, ensuring clients feel genuinely supported.
- Manage contract renewals and negotiate extensions in line with commercial objectives.
- Commercial Growth
- Identify and develop upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts including additional hardware, Operation & Maintenance contracts, remote monitoring packages, and depot upgrades.
- Maintain an accurate account pipeline and track revenue forecasts within CRM.
- Feed client intelligence and market feedback into the wider commercial and product teams.
- Operational Coordination
- Work closely with Service Delivery, Technical, and Commissioning teams to ensure client commitments and SLAs are met.
- Coordinate access, scheduling, and communication around planned maintenance, fault response, and site interventions.
- Represent the company professionally at client sites, depot visits, and operational reviews.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of client activity, account status, risks, and opportunities in CRM.
- Contribute to client-facing reporting on asset performance, uptime, and SLA compliance.
- Provide regular internal updates on account status and market conditions.
Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in account management, customer success, or a client-facing commercial role, ideally within transport, fleet, infrastructure, or a related technical sector.
- Ability to engage credibly with depot managers, fleet directors, and transport authorities.
- Comfortable holding technical conversations around EV charging hardware, uptime performance, and infrastructure reliability.
- Strong communicator - written, verbal, and in person.
- Self-managed and proactive - you identify when a client needs attention without being prompted.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for client meetings and site visits.
Qualifications
- Background in commercial, operational, or technical account management (transport, energy, or industrial sectors).
- Valid UK driver's licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience with EV charging, zero-emission transport, or clean energy infrastructure.
- Existing relationships within the UK bus, coach, or public transport sector.
- Familiarity with DC charging systems or depot electrification environments.
- Experience working in a growth-stage or scaling business where you have had to build process as you go.
