An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join its Liverpool-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and ground investigation projects across the commercial, residential, infrastructure, and development sectors.
The successful candidate will be involved in both site-based and office-based activities, supporting projects from initial investigation through to technical assessment, reporting, and project delivery. - Coordinate site operations and ensure technical standards are maintained throughout project delivery
- Log soil and rock samples in accordance with current industry standards
- Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
- Assist with geotechnical assessments, foundation recommendations, and earthworks evaluations
- Support Phase I and Phase II site investigations where required
- Manage subcontractors, drilling crews, and site contractors
- Monitor project programmes, budgets, and deliverables
- Maintain accurate project records and technical documentation
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures
- Previous experience within a geotechnical, engineering geology, or geo-environmental consultancy
- Understanding of ground investigation techniques, soil and rock logging, and geotechnical assessment practices
- Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of current geotechnical standards, regulations, and best practices
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage project priorities
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work
