Our client specialises in the supply, build, refurbishment and maintenance of a wide range of commercial vehicles and equipment. They are looking for a talented Auto Electrician to join their expanding team.

The Role

Based in a modern workshop and production facility, you'll play a hands-on role in building, repairing, and enhancing specialist refuse collection vehicles and equipment. No two days are the same - from working on brand-new builds to diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on in-service vehicles. If you enjoy variety and technical challenges, this role offers plenty of both.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installing wiring looms, lighting systems, and electrical components across commercial vehicle chassis and bodies
  • Fitting and connecting bin lift control systems, CANbus systems, reverse cameras, sensors, warning lights, and beacons
  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, build specifications, and technical drawings
  • Carrying out diagnostics and fault finding using multimeters and specialist diagnostic equipment
  • Ensuring all work meets high-quality standards and complies with health & safety regulations
  • Contributing to continuous improvements within the production process
  • Working collaboratively with mechanical fitters, body builders, and quality teams to maintain a smooth workflow

Location & Package

Location: Leyland area
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay Rate: £18 - £22 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary to permanent
Overtime: Available
Benefits: Uniform provided
