We are currently partnering with a rapidly growing renewable energy specialist to recruit a Technical Manager to lead technical standards, product performance, and engineering excellence across the business. The Role
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the business, ensuring systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards. You will work closely with installation teams, service engineers, manufacturers, and senior management, acting as the go‑to technical expert across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the company's lead technical authority on renewable heating and energy systems
- Provide technical guidance across design, installation, commissioning, and service departments
- Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Provide technical support on complex installation projects
- Assist with commissioning strategies and troubleshooting
- Ensure systems are installed in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry standards
- Support resolution of technical issues and escalations
- Maintain relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry developments
- Support product selection and specification processes
- Evaluate new technologies and opportunities for business growth
- Deliver technical training and mentoring to engineers and installers
- Develop competency frameworks and technical development programmes
- Support apprentice and engineer development pathways
- Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements
- Oversee technical audits and quality assurance processes
- Support MCS, PAS 2035, and other industry accreditation requirements
- Drive high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction
- Support clients, developers, consultants, and contractors with technical advice
- Assist with complex project requirements and design reviews
- Act as a senior escalation point for technical enquiries
The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced technical professional with a strong background in renewable heating, HVAC, or building services engineering.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience with MCS and PAS 2035 frameworks
- Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or Energy‑related qualification
- Experience delivering technical training
- Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, or wider renewable technologies
