Our client is a leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor operating in London and the home counties. Having been established for 20 years they benefit from a large amount of repeat business. With a turnover in excess of £50M they operate in Commercial Office, Public sectors and high end residential. Their clients include Galliford Try, British Land, Mace and Sir Robert McAlpine, to name a few.
Role
Senior Mechanical Project Manager - Leicester - £80,000 to £100,000 or Day Rate Equivalent. Project is a new build prison circa £18M MEP, which will run over an 80 week programme.
Duties include:
- Tender review/validation
- Preconstruction stages
- Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
- Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
- Technical submittals
- RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
- Value Engineering where applicable
- Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
- Health & Safety management (RAMs)
- Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey
- Management of variations
- Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
- Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
- Overseeing commissioning stages
- Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
The ideal candidate:
- Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5m within your own discipline
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
