Our client is a leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor operating in London and the home counties. Having been established for 20 years they benefit from a large amount of repeat business. They pride themselves on being able to deliver technically, logistically challenging and fast-paced schemes. With a turnover in excess of £50M they operate in Commercial Office, Public sectors and high end residential. Their clients include Galliford Try, British Land, Mace and Sir Robert McAlpine, to name a few.

Role

Senior Mechanical Project Manager - Leicester - £80,000 to £100,000 or Day Rate Equivalent. Project is a new build prison circa £18M MEP, which will run over an 80 week programme.

Duties include:

  • Tender review/validation
  • Preconstruction stages
  • Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5m within your own discipline
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
