This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to play a key role in improving product quality and customer satisfaction within a complex manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to embed robust quality systems and drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain in-process quality control plans, procedures and work instructions across all key manufacturing stages.
- Conduct inspections, testing and internal audits to identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented before product release.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
- Lead structured root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, SPC and MSA.
- Validate corrective and preventive actions to ensure long-term effectiveness and sustained improvement.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues, reduce scrap and rework, and improve process capability.
- Support the introduction and qualification of new materials, components and manufacturing processes.
- Analyse quality KPIs and data trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support or oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T) and maintain full product and material traceability.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records and test reports.
- Assist with customer audits, third-party inspections and certification activities.
- Provide guidance and training to production teams on quality standards and best practice.
- Support supplier quality investigations and improvement activity.
Qualifications
- Holds an Apprenticeship, HND, Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within mechanical or electrical manufacturing (heavy engineering experience is highly advantageous).
- Possesses strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Is proficient in problem-solving tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA and root cause analysis techniques.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical data.
- Is confident working cross-functionally and engaging with shop-floor teams, engineers and senior stakeholders.
