Questech is recruiting on behalf of our client in Leeds for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Engineer to assemble and test machinery and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Apprentice trained engineer (NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification minimum)
- Mechanical and Technical Flexibility
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the assembly and testing of OEM machinery
- Combined education and on-the-job training within an engineering background
- Hand skills, engineering measuring equipment, quality systems and procedures, mechanical and technical skills, basic Lean principles
- Must have worked to tight tolerances such as .5 microns and have at least 2 years of complex manufacturing assembly experience
Responsibilities:
- Assembly and testing of machinery & equipment to meet customer requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the improvement team
- Support non-complex tasks to semi-skilled teammates
- Carry out any cleaning pit‑stops efficiently and effectively, escalating any parts, drawings, routings and machine faults
- Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague
- Work within the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures
- Read engineering drawings, understand SOPs and meet tight deadlines
Salary: £35,000pa – £36,000pa. Excellent benefits package included.
Working days: Monday to Friday. Flexible start and finish times are available.
